Winchendon Board approves $825,000 CDBG grant for infrastructure

Winchendon Board secures $825K state infrastructure grant. Chair Andrew Beauvais, Vice-Chair Tiffany Newton, and Member Audrey LaBrie unanimously approved the FY2026 Community Development Block Grant for Beech Street improvements including roadway repairs and sidewalk expansion on Summer Street. Nicole Roberts, Land Use and Planning Coordinator, and Sarah Maroney of Pioneer Valley Planning Commission presented details.
The board also approved a flammable liquid storage amendment for a gas station at 16 Main Street and unanimously appointed Robert Daniel Sweetwood as Board of Registrar for three years effective April 1. The board voted to place a Parks and Recreation Enterprise Fund article on the May 18 Annual Town Meeting warrant, allowing the department to track revenues and expenditures separately.
