Winchendon Finance Committee addresses budget overages with $95,000 snow and ice transfer. Chair Thomas J. Kane Jr. discussed year-to-date overages in school transportation and Fire Department accounts, including special education transportation exceeding budget and the spare houseman account growing from $127,000 to $135,000.
The committee voted unanimously to transfer $95,000 to DPW Snow and Ice, citing anticipated overages of $400,000. The committee agreed to propose $350,000 in reserve allocations: $100,000 to OPEB, $50,000 to contractual separation reserves, and $200,000 to the stabilization fund, which holds $1,619,844.
