Winchendon Conservation Commission approves Lake Monomonac weir gate and three-year permit extensions. The Conservation Commission unanimously approved six matters during its April 9 meeting, including a new stainless steel dual-leaf weir gate for the Lake Monomonac dam outlet, a three-year extension of the Sunset Lake permit, and the Mount Grace Conservation Restriction with a commission-participation stipulation. Chair Lionel Cloutier presided as the full commission also continued the landscaping hearing for applicant David Barone to May 14.

The Lake Monomonac watershed study, drawing on data from the 1970s through last year, identified chloride issues and targets phosphorus reduction as the primary water quality improvement goal.
