Conservation Commission approves four environmental permits, postpones two hearings

Winchendon Conservation Commission approves four septic and landscaping permits in May hearing. The five-member board unanimously approved negative determinations for new septic systems at 75 Island Road and 399 Maple Street, finding the work does not require a Wetlands Protection Act license. The 75 Island Road project involved a boundary line adjustment with the leach field positioned outside the 100-foot buffer zone; the 399 Maple Street project is within the Miller's River 200-foot riverfront zone.
The commission also approved determinations for refreshing existing beach sand at two Island properties. Two Notice of Intent hearings, for landscaping at 56 Beachview Drive and aquatic plant management at Stoddard Pond, were postponed to June 11 pending plan revisions.
