Commission on Disabilities advances accessibility initiatives with library partnership

Winchendon's Commission on Disabilities discussed support for a library bathroom upgrade and reviewed the status of a $30,000 grant for accessibility ramps at community locations. Chair Renee Eldredge reported that the group's Facebook page has grown to 106 followers, and members are working on repainting parking spaces at Central Street Plaza to include marked handicap spots. Upcoming activities include a transition planning drop-in at Sippin' Serendipity on February 24 and a partnership breakfast March 10 with the Age Friendly Initiative and Contact on Aging.
